Most bands for barn dances work on a fee per musician and a fee for the caller. Most bands bring their own PA system, but not lighting. Depending on the band and the distance they will travel to your event, can attract travel expenses. In some cases overnight accommodation might be required, but rare. When you book a band through "Counties Folk and Barn Dance Agency" we will require a deposit to show commitment to the event and secure the required act for you. The balance is normally paid to the band on the night in CASH so each member of the band can be paid at the event. Cancellation Because all our bands/acts are in constant demand and need advance notice of your event, we need a commitment from yourselves for their employment. Should an event be cancelled the deposit will be refunded if written notice is received at least 4 weeks prior to the event to enable the agency and the band to re-book the date. In the unfortunate event of a shorter term of cancellation the following would apply 3 weeks written notice - the deposit is non-refundable 2 weeks written notice - ½ the fee is to be paid 1 weeks written notice - the full fee is to be paid (Written notice is required to avoid bogus cancellations) Telephone cancellation is required to give as much notice as possible, followed by written confirmation. This is to protect the musician's financial well being as they have committed themselves to your event and would find it difficult to get alternative employment at short notice.
